Our Mission

The Greyhound Advancement Center works hand-in-hand with greyhound tracks, farms, transport, and adoption groups to ensure more effective placement into forever homes, while promoting a more positive image of greyhounds as companion, therapy and service dogs.

Through our work we educate the public regarding the gentle nature, wonderful temperament, and intelligence of the Greyhound breed.

An Alliance with Greyhound Adoption Groups

The Greyhound Advancement Center works with greyhound tracks, farms, transport, and adoption groups.   We provide training and temporary placement, marketing, grant assistance, cross-communication, and creative programs for greyhounds.

We have begun this effort in the Orlando, Tampa, St Petersburg, and Sarasota areas.   We are open to expanding our program to other locations.

Program Objectives

• Work closely with greyhound adoption groups to find homes for the greyhounds and enhance the adoption process through our value added programs.

• Allow greyhound adoption groups to sponsor dogs being placed in obedience training programs for adoption.

• Deliver obedience trained greyhounds to the community. 

• Provide a network of prison foster homes for greyhounds including temporary housing.

• Greyhound prison Boot Camp will reach a new audience and provide new challenges for trainers.

• Assist with organizations starting up their own prison training programs.

• Educate the public and raise awareness about greyhounds as companions, therapy dogs and service dogs.
