Joanne and Ken
Proud parents of prison training graduates Seymour, Copper and Sweet Trey, Joanne and Ken came to greyhounds later in life. But they were wise enough to recognize and follow Seymour's guidance to how impressive and effective greyhounds can be beyond the racetrack. Their goals are the same as his -- bring a better and happier life to all of those we 'touch'. For GAC, that means dogs, adopters, volunteers, inmate trainers, DC staff and anyone else the program can reach. They formed the vehicle that scores and scores of people have used to make that happen.
Seymour
Seymour was the inspiration for the Greyhound Advancement Center. He was one of the first prison-trained greyhounds and a true ambassador for the gentle loving temperament of the breed.
Animal ambassadors
Trey
Sweet Trey is a proud Hardee Hound graduate (and Top Dog). He can’t wait to return for visits — mostly for the hot dogs. Trey has a ‘goofy’ and lovable disposition and always finds a way to wrap himself around anyone who shows interest.
Copper
Copper is a proud Hardee Hound graduate. Initially a shy guy, he graduated Most Improved (and unofficially, most playful). He loves returning to prison for all the attention. He doesn’t let his heart condition get in the way of living his best life. In his spare time, he leads public access training sessions for service dogs.
Max
Max the cat is an important member of the GAC team. He has extensive experience in the field of “cat testing” and stays up-to-date on all things greyhound reading the “greyhound bible.”
