Every greyhound will learn
Basic obedience and manners
The dogs develop confidence and their personality blossoms
Services Offered
Family Companion
Basic Obedience: All companion dogs learn the basic commands: sit, stay, down, come, place, shake, etc. This makes them ideal family pets, ready to move into their new forever home. You will need to practice their commands to keep up with their skills learned in prison.
Many trainers go above and beyond the required elements for graduation and teach the dogs tricks based on natural abilities and personalities. Some dogs can read flashcards, smile, play dead, play soccer, or are multi-lingual.
Therapy Dog
Intermediate Tasks: Many greyhounds have traits that make them an ideal therapy dog because of their gentle friendly disposition, prior experience being handled by multiple humans, short hair and height which is often wheel-chair or bed accessible.
In addition to basic obedience, they are trained to meet Therapy Dog standards and may be exposed to wheelchairs, crutches, canes, walkers, etc. Owners must then complete training and testing for therapy dog certification.
Service Animal
Intermediate and Advanced Tasks: If you are looking for a greyhound to assist you with service dog tasks, we may be able to help. We have worked with dogs for PTSD, autism, hearing, and other assistance. We are able to train the greyhound to perform specific tasks on the inside but you should work with a professional dog trainer on the outside to ensure your greyhound is able to do public access in addition to specific service dog tasks. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.
