When your dog is resource protective there are a number of things to be done
A: Toys
As soon as he/she shows the slightest sign, remove the toy/item after a few minutes go through the process again. Trick is to be consistent and stay with it for a while. Don’t do it only when it happens, make it happen.
B: Food
Sit as close as possible to the your dog, place a small amount of food in his bowl. If he reacts negatively, remove the food. Continue until the dog stops reacting negatively.
C: Bark at people
Separate dog via baby gate fence etc when someone enters the house. Have them drop a high value treat into the dog’s area without saying anything or looking at the dog.
